Mongolia and Switzerland on Thursday signed a visa-free agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The ministry said the deal was signed in Ulan Bator between Mongolian Foreign Minister, Damdin Tsogtbaatar, and his visiting Swiss counterpart, Ignazio Cassis.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on a wide range of issues in a bid to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in various fields such as politics, trade and investment.
Cassis arrived Ulan Bator earlier in the day for a three-day visit.
The visit marks the first time a Swiss foreign minister has ever visited Mongolia since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1964.
