NLO: Ekiti United FC coach plays down talk underestimating Rising Stars

Ekiti United Football Club’s Head Coach, Olusegun Adelakun, on Friday assured that his team would not underestimate Rising Stars FC of Akure in their Nationwide League One (NLO) match on Saturday.

Adelakun told newsmen in Ado-Ekiti that his team was well prepared for the match scheduled for the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.

He said the club was able to recruit versatile players in the midfield, defence and attack ahead of the new season and he was sure that his team would perform well.

The coach said the team was ready to improve its tactics and winning mentality in their matches, regardless of the club’s performance last season,

“We will not tolerate any form of complacency, laziness, and disobedience of instructions both on the field and off the field from the players.

“These were part of the club’s setback last season.

‎“I am delighted that the new season of the NLO will kick-off on Saturday because my team will have the opportunity to correct the mistakes of last season.

“We are also determined to work harder to gain promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL).

“But I want to assure our fans that we will not underestimate our opponent, Rising Stars on Saturday and other opponents to enable us get to the promise land.

“I have instructed my team that any form of complacency will not be tolerated this season, because I am determined to ensure the promotion of Ekiti United from the NLO to the Nigeria National League (NNL),’’ he said.

Ekiti United will take on Rising Stars in their first match of the 2017/2018 NLO season at the Oluyemi Kayode‎ Stadium on Saturday.
