Kenyan boxer Michael ”Shaka” Nyawade

Kenyan boxer, Michael “Shaka” Nyawade, who is billed to fight Nigeria’s Waidi “Skoro” Usman for the African Boxing Union featherweight title at GOtv Boxing Night 14, arrived Lagos yesterday.

Nyawade, who was accompanied by his manager, Paul Akoth, vowed to make his opponent see hell when they clash on Saturday at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos.

“I’m not here just to beat Skoro; I’m here to make him see hell. I will disgrace him and ensure that he retires from boxing,” boasted Nyawade.

His manager said Skoro lacks the experience to take on his boxer, adding that he expects the fight to be over within five rounds.

GOtv Boxing Night 14 will feature seven fights, including two other title fights. Nigeria’s Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde will take on Djossou Agoy Basile of the Republic of Benin for the West African Boxing Union title, while Rilwan “Real One” Oladosu will take on Kazeem “Ijoba” Badmus for national lightweight title.

The best boxer at the event, which will be aired live by SuperSport in 47 African countries, will go home with N1 million.
