Ogun West Elders Council on Monday expressed displeasure over the inability of the zone to produce a governor for the state for over forty years.

The chairman of the council, Elder M. A. Ajibola Olagbaye made this known to journalists in Abeokuta at a one day summit with the theme: “Ogun West For Governor: 2019 Is The Time”.

In a statement he distributed, the elders stated: “The people of Ogun West senatorial district hereby expresses their displeasure in being denied the opportunity to lead the administration of the state for over forty years of its creation.

“Every one in Ogun West is aware of this and that is why the genealogy of the 20th of citizens of the district is clamoring that Ogun West should produce the next governor in the 2019 election.

“Also Ogun West Elders’ Council has been in existence for two years now. The council has become more determined, encouraged and is poised to join hands with the current governor to actualize the much expected enthronement of an Ogun West led administration of the state, come 2019”.

Olagbaye identified some of the accusations levelled against the zone for its inability to produce a governorship candidate as disunity, lack of rallying point and multiplicity of interests among aspiring interested men and women from the zone

He said the zone was poised to surmount the problems and assured that the elders would support whoever emerged as the most credible among all the governorship aspirants invited to the summit.
