Stakeholders to promote agrobusiness via entertainment with Agrotainment app

The Corporate FaEmerson International(CFI) on Tuesday launched an online entertainment infused agriculture radio application, known as Agrotainment app.
The firm’s Managing Partner, Mr Akin Alabi, told newsmen in Lagos that the app was to create a wider and larger platform for the agrobusiness industry worldwide.
Alabi said that it would also provide an avenue for farmers in Nigeria and outside Nigeria to connect.
It will be a 24-hour, seven days a week radio station, he said.
“This mobile app, agrotainment, will give Nigerian and African farmers a voice to speak and be heard; a platform to link sellers and buyers of agriculture products.
“It will be providing a 24-hour knowledge sharing platform on various agricultural enterprise and value chain, to further grow Nigeria and Africa Agricultural Extension Services.
“It will also be providing information on sponsors and grants for agricultural projects and showcase products that are agricultural based’’ he said.

Speaking also at the event, a partner of CFI, Mr Ade Ajayi, said that the app would serve as a radio inside a pocket.
Ajayi said that the app was more tilted toward the younger segment of the world’s population that would later incorporate the old farmers in the rural farming communities.
“We know not all farmers have an android phone but we are hoping that the youths in farming will pass the message to their older counterparts.
“It is a new trend that will add entertainment and fun to agriculture 24 hours daily. We are currently getting indications of content providers from across the world’’ he said.
The app is available on Google Play Store for android mobile phone users.
