An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State has remanded a 36-year-old trader, Ibrahim Adeshina, in prison for allegedly raping 12-year-old girl.

Adeshina, who resides at No. 13, Anjorin St., Ikorodu, was arraigned on a charge of child rape.

The Magistrate, Mr W. B. Balogun, who gave the ruling, said the accused should remain behind bars pending advice from the
State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

According to the police prosecutor, Sgt. John Iberedem, the accused committed the offence on March 9 at his friend’s house at
No. 6, Itunla St., Oba-Ale in Ikorodu.

The prosecutor told the court that the accused called the girl, who is an apprentice, to buy cigarette for him while she was on her way to pick her boss’ children in school.
