Ogun State Commissioner of Police Ahmed Iliyasu has revealed that collaboration between the state government, police and communities is responsible for the peace in the state.

Iliyasu disclosed this at the commissioning of a police division headquarters in Aregbe by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Abeokuta.

He said the state has not witnessed killing of farmers by herdsmen because of the collaboration between the communities and the government.

The Ogun police boss added that the collaboration between the police and the communities was what brought about the construction of a new police headquarters and many police divisions in the state.

He also submitted that that it is the confidence that the people has in the police that has brought about the PCRC.

He commended the PCRC for assisting the police to reduce crime in the state and promised to do everything possible to make residents sleep with their two eyes closed.

Earlier, the chairman of PCRC in Ogun, Alhaji Ibraheem Mogaji Olaniyan, said the secret and magic behind the peaceful environment in the state is the tireless collaborative efforts of the various communities with the government and police.

Olaniyan charged members and heads of communities not to relent but do more to support, assist and cooperate with the police because they are the friends of the state.

The PCRC boss also promised to give all necessary support and cooperation to the police to make their work easy.

Olaniyan also reminded members and residents of the state to remember that the PCRC would not condone criminals, indolent people and people without reasonable means of livelihood.
