Four suspected robbers attacking motorists and passengers along Numan-Yola Road got more than they expected when they encountered the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai along the highway.

Armed soldiers escorting the army chief quickly picked them up and seized their weapons.

According to Texas Chukwu, army spokesman, the robbers blocked the Numan – Yola high way, robbing motorists and passengers of their belongings.

Items recovered from the suspects include three dane guns, machetes and different kinds of charms.

The suspects had since been handed over to the Nigerian Police Force for further investigation and prosecution.
