Ekiti 2018: NYSC pledges neutrality to ensure credible, free and fair election

Mrs Ukagha Eze, the Ekiti State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), said the Corps was committed to neutrality to ensure credible, free and fair election during the July 14, gubernatorial election in the state.

Eze said this on Wednesday during the closing ceremony of the 2018; Batch A, orientation course at the NYSC camp in Ise-OrunEmure-Ekiti.

She said that corps members were undergoing training, organised by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), saying that they would be non partisan and neutral during the election.

“Our corps members are for no political party, hence, they will work during the election to the rules given to them,’’ she said.

She also advised the corps members to respect the cultural norms and values of their host communities in order not to offend the people.

The coordinator also advised the corps members to take the advantage of the skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme serious in order to be self-reliant after their service year.

Eze advised the corps members to shun every negative tendency such as cultism, political thuggery, drug peddling, addiction and any forms of violence.

The state coordinator cautioned the corps members not indulge in sexual immorality and frivolous journeys during their service year and wish them hitch-free service year.
