From all indications, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Ekiti State.

As at the time of filing this report, the former governor was leading the 32 other aspirants with the highest number of votes.

Fayemi is closely followed by Chief Segun Oni, a former governor of the state and a new entrant to the governorship contest, Olubunmi Ojo.

In what could be the described as a landslide victory, Fayemi, also a former governor of the state, has maintained a long lead ahead of the duo of Oni and Ojo as he has scored the highest number of votes cast so far going by the sorted ballots in seven out of the 10 ballot boxes as at the time of filing this report.

A total of 32 aspirants participated in the keenly contested APC primary held on Saturday at Damlek Events Centre, Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
