The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Tuesday in Ibadan inaugurated its executives across the 351 wards and 33 local government areas in the state.

A legal practitioner, Mr Segun Abayomi, conducted the oath of office for the officials at the party secretariat in Ibadan.

The inaugurated executives emerged from the last ward and local government congresses of the party across the state.

Hon. Lekan Adeyemo, the state’s Deputy Chairman of the party, congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and urged them to commence reconciliation of aggrieved members immediately.

“Our party’s constitution says it is mandatory for elected party executives to be sworn-in.

“ All our new party executives in the state have been sworn-in and today we are conducting yours too,” he said.

Adeyemo stated that the state executive had after their inauguration commenced reconciliation of aggrieved party members, adding that the process was on-going.

He urged the newly inaugurated executives in the wards and local governments to also replicate this within the various jurisdictions.

The State Secretary of the party, Mr Mojeed Olaoya, urged the newly inaugurated executives to ensure that the aggrieved members were reconciled at their various wards and local governments.

Olaoya stated that the peaceful conduct of the congress had shown that the party was the most organised, adding that the party would ensure aggrieved members were reconciled.

The recently conducted congresses of the party in the state had witnessed a crisis, with a faction threatening to quit the party.

A faction of the party known as Unity Forum had recently threatened to quit the party, alleging marginalisation and highhandedness by Gov. Abiola Ajimobi.
