Pastor Benjamin Olusanya of Jehovah Church of Salvation, Ilorin has called on Nigerians to trust and love one another, not minding their religious differences in order to live in peace and for the country to develop.

Olusanya made the call in Ilorin on Tuesday.

He frowned at the level of religious discrimination syndrome among different religious groups in the country, saying that the development was a threat to the national unity.

”It is not only ethnic differences as thought by many that is causing division in the country.

“Religious intolerance and discrimination have done more harm than good to the unity of this great nation.

“Even some landlords will specify they prefer to rent their houses to one religious observer to the other.

“Religious discrimination has created in us lack of trust for our fellow Nigerians.

“How we can live in peace when we don’t trust our neighbour because of his or her religious difference,” he said.

He also called on religious leaders to preach tolerance to their followers in order to strengthen the relationship among different religious groups in the country.
