Young Nigerian fashion entrepreneur Ozioma Obiuku, Founder and Creative Director of OOBIUKU Clothing, has been nominated for Nigeria’s 25 Under 25 Awards in the Fashion Category, organized by SME100 Africa.

The Nigeria’s 25 Under 25 Awards celebrate entrepreneurs under 25 years of age who are building sustainable businesses, creating jobs, and driving national growth.

The platform, powered by SME100 Africa, has earned national and international credibility for its robust selection process and its high-level partnerships. Past editions have enjoyed backing from leading financial institutions like First City Monument Bank (FCMB), global partners such as Forbes, and Nigeria’s most influential media brands, including BellaNaija, YNaija, Information Nigeria, and The Guardian.

These partnerships make the award one of the most respected youth-focused recognitions in Africa, highlighting nominees as industry trailblazers with verified contributions to Nigeria’s economy.

Ozioma’s selection as a nominee is a reflection of her early impact in fashion entrepreneurship. Since establishing OOBIUKU Clothing in 2017, she has gained recognition for her intricate couture and bridal designs, serving a growing list of high-profile clients. Her brand stands out for its fusion of cultural heritage and modern elegance, positioning her as one of Nigeria’s rising stars in the creative economy.

Speaking on the nomination, Ozioma said:

“This recognition from SME100 Africa means so much to me at this stage of my journey. To be acknowledged by such a credible platform, supported by banks and international partners, reinforces my belief that fashion is not only about style but also about entrepreneurship, empowerment, and building sustainable businesses.”

The 2018 awards ceremony is set to hold on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos, with a red carpet at 4:30 pm and the awards presentation at 6 pm. The event will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, corporate sponsors, and the media to celebrate the country’s top young innovators.

Ozioma’s nomination underscores her growing influence as both a designer and entrepreneur. Through OOBIUKU Clothing, she continues to blend creativity and business acumen, contributing to the fashion sector’s role as a major employer and driver of Nigeria’s creative economy.
