Group tasks APC members on collection of PVCs, membership card

The Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard, an Independent Campaign Group has stressed the need for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to obtain their membership cards in case the party decides to adopt direct Primary Election in the state.

The state Coordinator of the group, Seyi Bamigbade who said this while on sensitization campaign at Itire Ikate and Coker Aguda Local C Council Development Areas of Lagos added that the group has successfully sensitized Lagosians on the importance of obtaining their PVCs and All Progress Congress Memberships card in case of direct primary.

According to him, the group embarked on the sensitization campaign to enlighten general public on the ongoing PVC collection/APC Memberships Card had been taken to all the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs of Lagos.

He thanked Lagosians for their support towards the continuity of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in office and urged them to partake in the ongoing exercises, which will enable them to reelect him in 2019.

Seyi said Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard recently mobilized various groups and thousands of decampees into the All Progressive Congress, Lagos State Chapter, under at leadership of Ahlaji Tunde Balogun at the party secretariat, located in Acme area of the State.

He said, “All members of this development must register as a member of All Progress Congress in their various Wards meeting.”

The chairman, Lagos State Local Governmnet Service Commission, Alhaji Babatunde Rotinwa also advised Lagosians to ensure that they collect their PVCs, saying, “Your PVC is your future; if you have not obtained your PVC, the time to do that is now including weekends.

“We know there are challenges in the process of PVC collection; but I want to encourage you to overcome the challenges in order to have a say in 2019.

“We are also having dialogue with INEC and the APC Lagos State Chapter on ways to ease the process and I am sure that soon they will come up with ways to make the registrations easier.”

Rotinwa advised youths and women of the state to support the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode Continuity Project and to use their large numbers to mobilize and achieve efforts return him back to office with the five million targeted votes .

“The Not-too-young-to-rule law is to encourage youths to participate in politics. Nigerian youths must make efforts to be part of Nigeria’s greatness.

“This is to engage you on what you need to do in democracy; we want you to understand that one of the ways to entrench good governance is to participate in the political process, which has to do with getting their PVCs and APC membership card,” he said.
