LAUTECH inducts 67 medical laboratory scientists

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has inducted 67 new medical laboratory scientists.

Mr Lekan Fadeyi, the institution’s Public Relations Officer disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Ibadan on Sunday.

The new 67 medical laboratory scientists swore to the oath of practice administered by the Council of the Medical Laboratory Scientists at the institution’s College of Health Sciences in Osogbo.

Prof. Adeniyi Gbadegesin, the Vice-Chancellor, said the institution remained proud of its products who are doing well in their various fields of human endeavour.

Gbadegesin appealed to the newly inducted professionals to remain focus on their practice in service to humanity.

He admonished staffers of the university to continue with their commitment to duty, assuring them that the finances of institution would soon change for the better.

Prof. Samuel Taiwo, the Provost, College of Health Sciences, explained that inductees and their parents experienced delay in the induction as a result of economic downturn in the country which negatively affected the institution.

He appealed to them to be resolute to shine in spite of whatever odds, calling on relevant regulatory body to increase the admission quota of LAUTECH in the medical related courses as well as others.

Taiwo added that the facilities for training are available and qualitative.
