Yoruba Tennis club urges LASG to create avenues for youth development

The Yoruba Tennis Club has urged the Lagos State Government to create more avenues for youth development in the area of sports.

Chairman of the Club, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo gave this advice at the commissioning of an Ultra-Modern Gymnasium and SPA at the Sports Pavilion Complex of the Club.

Fabamwo said the state government had been doing a lot in the area of youth development, but noted that more could be done by providing the enabling environment to develop burden talents.

He also charged youths and other Lagosians to take exercise seriously in order to remain fit.

Fabamwo said the gymnasium and SPA was meant to encourage its members to stay healthier.

According to him, the facility was also meant to encourage members of Yoruba Tennis Club, Lagosians and Nigerians who were not members to be healthier and physically active and adopt a healthier life style.

He said the SPA was also opened to Nigerians who are non-members for a fee, adding that the Sports Pavilion Complex already boasted of Lawn Tennis Court and spectators sitting arena.

Also speaking, the Secretary, Board of Trustees of the Club, Dr. Oluyomi Finnih, who commissioned the gym, urged Lagosians and members to utilise the gym, as regular exercise could reduce going to the hospital always.
