Gov. Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa has ordered the payment of local government workers’ salaries before the Eid-el-Kabir.
The state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Mustafa Barkindo, made this known to newsmen on Thursday in Yola.
“In the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir, the governor has directed the ministry to ensure the payment of salaries to local government staff including those of primary health care centers and local education authority,” Barkindo said.
The commissioner said the ministry was working toward effecting the payment, adding that workers should expect to receive the alerts in their bank accounts soon.
He reiterated the commitment of the administration to boosting workers’ welfare and urged them to rededicate themselves to supporting the administration ’s efforts aimed at transforming the state.
