As Muslims all over the world celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir on Tuesday, Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Adebule has called on Lagosians to uphold the tenets of Eid – el celebrations which include fulfillment of promise, obedience to Allah, show of mercy, compassion and neighborly love.

The deputy governor, who gave the advice in her Sallah message to Muslim faithful, urged Nigerians to celebrate the Sallah peacefully, show love and ensure peaceful co-existence in the neighborhood.

“We must always remember the lesson of this celebration which is fulfillment of promise and the show of great love by the Almighty Allah to mankind, we must always be conscious of fulfilling our promises, show love to our neighbours, be kind to fellow human beings and live peacefully among our neighbours and shun any act capable of disrupting public peace’’ Adebule urged Muslims.

Adebule, while calling on youths in the country to join hands with government in rebuilding a new nation, urged them to engage themselves in more productive activities that could help to fast-track the process of nation building and economic growth of the country.

While congratulating Lagosians for witnessing another Sallah celebration, the deputy governor explained that the all inclusive governance embarked upon by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration in the state had helped to achieve rapid developments in the last three years in infrastructure, tourism, education , urban renewal development and many more, adding that the strategy has helped the administration to build on the legacies of the founding fathers to bring democratic dividends to the door step of the masses.

She urged Lagosians to continue to support and pray for the present administration in the state as it strove on daily basis to bring new reforms that would impact positively on the lives of the common man.
