The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has refuted claims that he called the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to beg for a second term ticket for Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State.

The decision of elders in APC, Lagos State to support the aspiration of former Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has left the second term ambition of Ambode in jeopardy.

Reports had it that Adeboye called Tinubu to beg for Ambode to be allowed to run for a second term in office.

Tinubu was said to have turned down Adeboye’s request on ground that people had been accusing him of imposing candidates on the party, and that all aspirants must face the primary election.

“We would like to inform the general public that this is false and Pastor E.A Adeboye has not and would not be involved in inter /intra party politics in Nigeria and anywhere.

“RCCG is present across the world. Pastor E.A Adeboye advises all well meaning Nigerians just like him to get their PVC’s and exercise their civic duty. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement said.
