The Kebbi government has procured drugs worth N100 million for treatment of emergency cases at the hospitals in the 21 local government areas of the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Hajiya Halima Dikko, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

She said the drugs would be given to patients free during emergency cases,explaining that the cases include accidents and outbreak of diseases.

“The emergency cases are cases of road accidents, outbreak of diseases, drugs for children and pregnant women, all will be distributed free,” she said.

Dikko urged the relevant stakeholders in the health sector to pick interest in surveillance and report any incident of violation of the scheme.

“We also urge the general public to report to us the diversion and misappropriation of drugs to the ministry for appropriate sanctions,” she said.
