An 18-year-old man, Abdulbasi Usman, on Wednesday day appeared before a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Kano for allegedly having anal sex with an 8-year-old boy.
The accused, who resides at Unguwar Wambai, Dorayi Babba Quarters, Kano, is facing a count charge of unnatural offence.
According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Pogu Lale, one Mohammed Auwal of Kadawa Dorayi Quarters in Kano, reported the matter at Dorayi Babba Police Division in Kano, on July 31.
Lale said the accused lured the boy to an uncompleted building and had unlawful anal intercourse with him.
The offence contravened Section 284 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr Muhammad Jibril, remanded the accused in prison and adjourned the case until Oct. 9 for mention.
