Landlord remanded for defiling 2 daughters

The Police at the Adeniji Adele Police Division, Adeniji, Lagos Island have dragged a 37-year old landlord, Suleiman Usman before a Lagos Magistrate Court for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of his two daughters, aged eight and and five years without their consent and in the process inflicted grievous injuries on their private parts.

A Police source alleged that the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Adeniji Adele Division directed his team led by Sgt, Comfort Bawa to arrest the accused following a complaint by the mother of the victims.

The accused, a resident of 2, Baale Street, Onisewo Community, Apapa, Lagos was charged before an Igbosere Magistrate Court, Lagos on a two-count charge of felony to wit, unlawful penetration into the private parts of his two daughters aged eight and five years without their consent.

Police counsel, Friday Mameh informed the court in charge No F/63/2018 that the accused, a landlord committed the offence in May, 2018 at his residence at 2, Baale Street, Onisewo Community, Apapa, Lagos.

Mameh told the court that the mother of the victims reported to the police that her two daughters informed her that anytime she left them at home with their father, he would tell them to pull off their pants and lie down on the bed and he would pull off his clothe and used his manhood to penetrate into their private parts and released whitish substance into their private parts and warned them not to tell their mother or else he would beat them.

Mameh said that the complainant further stated that following her daughters complaints, she examined their private parts and discovered that someone had tampered with their private parts and reported the matter to the Police who referred her daughters to Mirabal Health Centre for a test.

Mameh added that the result of the test conducted on the victims at the Mirabel Centre revealed that the accused had actually penetrated the private parts of his two daughters on several occasions and inflicted grievous injuries on their private parts

He said the offences, the accused committed were punishable under sections 263(1)(2) and 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges in the open court and the presiding Magistrate K.O. Doja Ojo ordered that the accused be remanded in prison pending the advice from the Department of Public Prosecution, DPP of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice on the matter.

Ojo adjourned the case till 24 October, 2018 for the report of DPP’s advice.
