Vice Chairman, Ogun State, African Democratic Congress, ADC, Chief Ekundayo Opaleye, has said that his party will unseat the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, in Ogun State.

Opaleye, who spoke at the Ogun Central Senatorial Stakeholders meeting in Abeokuta North Local Government where all aspirants from the district were presented to the supporters of the party, said that the ADC was the only platform with values of good governance, accountability and fair play.

According to him, the electorate in Ogun would not regret voting for a party that would rid the state off poverty, which was inflicted on them by the ruling party.

He said, “We are the credible alternative in the coming 2019 General Elections. We will continue to ensure that our processes leading to the elections and beyond will be free and fair. We will not be tainted by the unacceptable practices of imposition of candidates and financial inducement that our opponents are renowned for.

“This is the only political party that all its members are the financiers. We will not go the way of other parties and will stick to our guiding principles, ethics, which centre on the greatness of Ogun State through purposeful leadership.”

Opaleye called on the people of Ogun State to end the era of failed projects in the state. According to him, era of bad roads and increasing debt profile must end by the people or not to talk of billions wasted on a bogus projects

Also speaking, a governorship aspirant of the party in the state, Prince Gboyega Isiaka, said, “It is a clean and fresh party. At the level it is now, it is the fastest growing party. Since a number of us moved into the party, a lot has changed and the clamour for the tickets at all levels has increased. There are some locations where we have as many as 10 people aspiring to go to the State Assembly. Over 100 people have expressed interest in various positions and many will still come up.

“People will not be expressing interest if they don’t believe the party is going to win. From the humble beginning of the party around April and May this year, when a number of us adopted the party, up till now, it has continued to grow.”

On his aspiration to govern the state, Isiaka said he remained the most experienced among those who had come out for the number one political office in Ogun.

“Since I joined ADC, our effort has been with the people. We have been doing quite a lot, interacting with the people. I can assure you that anybody can come to Ogun State today and carry out investigation; they will tell you we are the party to beat. We are going to carry that to the election,” he added.
