LETTER TO MY GENERATION: A complete sense of irresponsibility is when I have N100k in my account and see a hungry beggar on my street, take a picture of him/her post it on social media and say “Nigeria is bad oo” when I have the power to change that person’s situation without even getting the government involved..I am not disputing the fact that the situation of Nigeria is in a sorry state and that our leaders have not kept to most of the promises they made to us, but how long are we going to keep complaining about bad governance? I don’t understand it when a rich man with 5 SUVs in his compound has a lot of beggars on his street and not have a sense of guilt to at least clean up his street by empowering the ones in need there..I say this to every Nigerian if you are in a good place financially to afford 10 plates of food and you see your neighbor hungry and you don’t give them some from your Abundance and decides to save it for yourself for a “rainy day” , Just know that you are as bad as the ones you pointing fingers at. And this applies to everyone, If you are a Student and you are good with math you don’t have to wait till you make money to contribute to changing your society, you can use your gift or talent to reach out to the kids that can’t afford education and teach them what you know, this same principles applies to every other person in other spheres, use what you have whatever it is to cause change in your environment. There are 25 million unemployed youth in Nigeria why are you pointing fingers when you can employ 10 people out of that staggering number before calling out the government. Don’t just scream “get your PVC” because at this point getting PVC is not enough, get involved in the transformational change you desire to see in Nigeria in your own little capacity .Before we complain again let’s make sure we have helped someone around us first .May we seize to be the generation that only talks about how bad Nigeria and her leaders are on social media and start becoming responsible for our environment, our Neighbors in need and the society at large by the actions we take everyday to make Nigeria a better place.HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY 🇳🇬
