Eko Youth Academy produces new ambassadors

The Lagos State Government has named the second set of Youth Ambassadors from its Eko Youth Academy Leadership Initiative Programme.

The training programme, which began in august gathered over 500 youths from all divisions of the state for five days training and camped the outstanding 60 participants for one week.

During the camping exercise, the second Lagos State Youth Ambassadors emerged alongside five district ambassador and five others to assist from the Academy Second Edition.

Balogun Habeeb, a participant from Ikorodu Division emerged the State’s Youth Ambassador while Busari Hayatulah Taiwo from Epe Division; Adigun Modinat from Lagos Division; Awoyemi Omobolaji from Ikorodu Division; Bakare Ayomikun Samuel from Ikeja Division and Obilaja Fisayo Adedeji from Badagry Division were named Divisional Ambassadors.

Being the second of its kind, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Agboola Dabiri during the grand finale held ar Ipaja Youth Hostel, charged the winners of the Eko Youth Academy previously Ibile Youth Academy to contribute positively to the development of youths in the state.

Agboola enjoined the ambassadors to step out with confidence as a team to push boundaries and to think outside-the-box while also showcasing good leadership skills in their various communities and divisions.

“I implore you to cooperate and bring forth ideas and recommendations that can contribute significantly to Youth Development in the State,” he implored.

Also, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Hakeem Muri-Okunola said the leadership training initiative was organised to harness the hidden potentials and virtues of citizenship, patriotism and volunteerism in the youth.

He advised the ambassadors to always keep up the good image of the state, saying the state government would continue to support the course of youths of the state.

While expressing gratitude to the state government for the initiative, the State Youth Ambassador, Balogun Habeeb, promised to work with other divisional ambassadors in developing ideas and solutions to problems affecting the youths in the state.

“We would continue to make the Lagos State Government proud as its ambassadors both home and abroad,” he said.
