A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo, Mr Dennis Idahosa, says the free and fair primaries i9n the party will guarantee victory for the party in 2019 general elections.

Idahosa, who is an aspirant for the Ovia Federal Constituency, stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Benin on Thursday said the development would also ensure that credible candidates were voted into office.

The aspirant, who commended leadership of the party for providing a level playing field in the primaries, so far conducted across the country urged APC to continue to build on the successes recorded.

He appealed to those that lost out in the primaries not to see themselves as losers, but part of the processes to ensure the peace in the party.

Idahosa said: “It is now we are having a semblance of what a political party truly is; a party where internal democracy thrives.

“If not for the transparent process that followed the Governorship primaries in Lagos, the incumbent, Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, who accepted defeat would not have done so, not to talk of congratulating the victor.

“What I have seen so far, especially as regards the party primaries across the country, the candidates and APC job have been made a lot easier as it concerns the general elections in 2019.

Idahosa, however, noted that in spite of the transparent processes, it would not be unlikely to have some aggrieved persons and he urged the party leadership to reach out to such persons with a view to working for the development of the party.
