Opeyemi “Sense” Elijah, best boxer at GOtv Boxing NextGen Search 4, has vowed to win the best boxer award at GOtv Boxing NextGen Search 16 billed to hold on 14 October at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Attached to the award is a cash prize of N1.5million, specifically for the Independence edition, and the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy for the best boxer.

Speaking in an interview in Lagos, the Ibadan-based 18-year old said he is determined to prove that his emergence as the best boxer at GOtv Boxing NextGen 4 was no fluke.

“I want to win the best boxer award and of course, the cash prize that is attached to it. I will do so by defeating my opponent and prove that my success at GOtv Boxing NextGen Search 4 in Abeokuta was not by accident,” he said.

Elijah is billed to fight Sheriff “Oshe” Ogunbanjo in a super bantamweight challenge duel. Big things are expected of Elijah, who shone at GOtv Boxing NextGen Search 3, but was advised by coaches to delay his entry into the professional cadre by a year on account of age.
