Mrs Mimi Adzabe-Orubibi, former Executive Chairman, Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), has won the APC ticket to contest for the Benue North-East senatorial seat.
Adzape-Orubibi defeated four others to pick the ticket in the election held in Adikpo.
According to Mr Christopher Sarki, chairman of the APC electoral panel, the former revenue service boss polled 1,391 to floor Mr Mathias Byuan, who scored 279 votes.
Mr James Vandefan, another contestant, secured 28 votes, while a serving state legislator, Mr Benjamin Nungwa, polled 26 votes, leaving 22 votes for Mr Michael Tsumbu.
Adzape-Orubibi, in an acceptance speech, thanked the constituents for keeping faith with her and urged defeated contestants to team up with her for success in the general election.
