A former Enugu North Senatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Chinedu Eya, has called on supporters and aggrieved participants in the just concluded primary elections of the party across the state to desist from linking their inability to clinch the tickets to the governor’s influence.

The party chieftain who described Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as a lover of peace and promoter of democracy, explained that the governor’s insistence on primary elections across board was to ensure that the people’s will triumphed at the end of the exercise.

In a statement issued on Friday by his media aide, Gwiyi Solomon, Chief Eya urged the aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to seek redress through the party’s internal mechanism for the resolution of complaints as the party’s door is wide open to accommodate grievances.

Eya said: “The Governor Ugwuanyi we all know is a man of peace, lover of democracy and promoter of people’s interest. People should please count him out of any conspiracy in their losses.

“Anybody linking him to manipulation in the just concluded primary is only on a long journey to nowhere.

“I can understand there might be genuine complaints arising from the exercises, but they should know our party has an internal system capable of handling these issues.”

He further enjoined the governor to continue his good work as posterity awaits him.
