Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, the National Coordinator, SERVICOM, has charged all nodal officers to ensure prompt response to official files and letters so as to enhance quality service delivery in the country and promote ease of doing business.

Akajemeli gave the charge during the National Council of SERVICOM Nodal Officers meeting on Thursday in Abuja.

The meeting was for nodal officers in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

She urged the officials to ensure that a file or letter does not exceed 24 hours on their desks, adding that prompt response to letters helps a business run better and easily.

“Always acknowledge letters immediately you receive them; we are trying to work on the attitude of officers not responding to their letters or mails.

“Strive to achieve a 24-hours response, highest 48 hours. This culture of never responding to official letters must be changed in the different MDAs.

“We are going to do training on this attitudinal change in the MDAs, to ensure prompt response to mails.’’

She added that after the training, a survey would be conducted after six months to check the level of compliance, adding that awards would be given to the best agency.

Akajemeli encouraged the officers to always report any challenge in their MDAs to the SERVICOM office for prompt intervention.
