Bello, Kumuyi preach peace at Suleja crusade

Nigerians have been urged to eschew violence and acts capable of breaching the peace as the country inches towards the 2019 general elections.

Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger made the appeal on Saturday at the ‘Night of Supernatural Connection with the God of Wonders’ crusade in Suleja.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the crusade was hosted by the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi.

The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Danjuma Sallau, called on religious faithful to live in peace and to shun religious intolerance.

Bello said that the Nation would achieve the desired development and greatness when citizens make religion a binding force in their lives.

He extolled Kumuyi’s virtues and described the popular cleric as “a man of God indeed with uncommon commitment to the people and the Nation”.

The governor stressed the need for Christians and Muslims to love one another because the two religions revolves around the same God.

The crusade attracted about 60,000 participants from all walks of life in the North central Nigeria.

The crusade lived up to its billing with harvest of diverse miracles as Kumuyi ministered at the one-day revival programme.

Speaking on the topic: ‘The Hour of Supernatural Connection’, Kumuyi who took his text from Matthew 8:5, 10, 13 called on the participants to make peace with God in order to experience supernatural connection.

The cleric while calling on his audience to live a life of faith maintained that: “God is a sure helper in every situation.”

Also in attendance are the State Commissioner for Lands, Alhaji Isah Kanko; the representative of the Suleja Emirate Council, Chief Bitrus Kaura; Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Niger Chapter, Rev. Mathias Echioda and his counterpart from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Rev. Emmanuel Leke.
