Voice of the Masses backs Buhari for second term

An advocacy group, Voice of the Masses and Support for Credible Leaders has thrown its weight behind the second term ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement released by its president Ibrahim Oluwatobiloba, the group said it is supporting President Buhari because of his integrity and determination to tackle corruption.

”We have decided to endorse and mobilize support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term re-election bid. This is not without considering President Muhammadu Buhari past and present integrity, credibility anti corruption stance which has also earned him African Champion of anti-corruption,” the group stated.

”We are an advocacy group committed to advancing, protecting, defending, sustaining and promoting fundamental human rights as guaranteed in the Nigerian Constitution and other International Convention and Covenants on Human Rights. We are also committed to galvanizing people support for the emergence of credible leaders in our society.

”The relationship between protest, agitation and bad leaders (leadership) cannot be overemphasized. Emergence of credible leaders diminish protest and agitation.

”After careful diagnosis and x-ray of Nigeria’s political environment, we came to the logical conclusion that instead of resorting to agitation and protest when there are infractions which do not achieve its purpose, and in line with our core objective, we have decided to endorse and mobilize support for President Muhammadu Buhari second term re-election bid in office. This is not without considering President Muhammadu Buhari past and present integrity, credibility anti corruption stance which has also earned him African Champion of anti-corruption.”
