Philanthropist and Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba has revealed the level of unemployment affecting graduates in Nigeria yearly.

Skill acquisition and entrepreneurship is the way to go in a country where getting a job is like rocket science. Williams who is also known for his comic act is set to embark on a give away tour to help people acquire new skills and be able to fend for themselves.

He Wrote:

There are 23.4million Unemployed Youth In Nigeria, and out of the 500,000 young people that graduates from the University every year in Nigeria less than 10% of that number eventually get a job. That number alone can collapse a nation and her economy and I honestly don’t know how we have been surviving with that staggering statistics. One of the major ways to deal with the unemployment rate in Nigeria is not only by Job creation in the private and public sectors,If we really want to drastically reduce the unemployment rate in our society it will only be done through Entrepreneurship through Human capital Development. The degree certificate is not enough these days, thus graduate needs new skills set to survive. This is part of the goals of the Our new Project @Project_onemillion under Williams Uchembah Foundation were we intend to Build Vocational and skill Acquisition Institution in various cities in Nigeria to enable this people not just become self dependent but also create job opportunities for others. So I will be continuing the #GiveChallengeTour from the second week of November but this time we will not only be taking kids off the street and empowering their parents , we will also create platforms to train the unemployed youth to acquire new skill set.
