Scavenger remanded for allegedly stealing ECWA's Church generator alternator

An Iyaganku Magistrates’ court on Monday ordered that a scavenger, Lateef Mojeed, 26, be remanded in an Agodi Federal Prison until Tuesday for allegedly stealing an alternator from a church generator.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olajumoke Akande, gave the order after the accused pleaded guilty to burglary and stealing.

The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Olalekan Adegbite told the court that Mojeed with one other, now at large conspired and stole the alternator , valued at N95,000 on Friday.

“Mojeed on Nov. 3, with one other, broke into the premises of the Evangalical Church Winning All ( ECWA and stole a generator alternator from the Church at 3 a.m.

The offence, he said. was reported to the police by the complainant, Rev. Ali Gufwan Kar at about 7. 25 a.m. at Eleyele Police station, Ibadan.

Mojeed, who lives under Mokola overhead bridge, was in court on a three-count charge of conspiracy, break-in and entering.

Adegbite said the offence contravened Section 390 (9), 415 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo state, 2000.
