Alhaji Isa Ibraheem, the Social Democratic Party (SDP), candidate for the Umaisah/Ugya seat in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, says he will tackle youth restiveness if elected.

Ibraheem on Tuesday in Umaisha said that he would do that by keeping the youths busy through various skills acquisition programmes.

“If you can get the youths busy, they won’t have time for violence; they will also not be available for disgruntled politicians seeking bandits to use for their evil activities,” he said.

The candidate emphasised the need for youths to be self-reliant and blamed the insecurity in the state on frustration and indolence among the youths.

Ibraheem also promised to support bills that would boost socio-economic activities and raise the living standard of his constituents.

The candidate also promised to pay attention to agriculture considering its importance to the socio-economic development of the country.

He called on the people of his constituency to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political differences, saying that peace was very crucial to progress in every human endeavour.
