Onnoghen must face CCT trial, Appeal Court rules

The Court of Appeal, Abuja on Thursday ruled that the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen must face the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, to defend allegations of false asset declaration levelled against him.

The Court of Appeal, Abuja on Wednesday ruled that the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen must face the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, to defend allegations of false asset declaration levelled against him.
The court, in its sitting refused an application for stay of proceedings filed by Onnoghen, against the CCT.
According to the Appeal Court, the charges filed against Onnoghen were criminal in nature and that the proceedings before the CCT could not be stopped.
