MAPOLY Rector charges lecturers to focus on teaching

The Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnics, Dr Samson Odedina has charged all academic staff of the institution to focus on their teaching in spite of their salaries being owed by the state government.

Odedina gave this charges while declaring open the second annual retreat organised by the MAPOLY Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, ASUP, of the institution held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

According to Odedina, “everybody in the management, including the civil servant are in the same shoes but we should not let that affect our morale in teaching the students.

“There is no controversy on the non-payment of salaries as the normal activities is going on in the campus, we are following Governor Ibikunle Amosun on the moving of the campus to Ipokia and tuition of the institution is not going to be increased.

“We are also working with circular from the Ministry of Education on a mission to provide quality education for the people of Ogun and outsiders. Everything is well documented and reported on moving of Mapoly to Ipokia,” Odedina said.

He commend the leadership of ASUP for putting up the retreat, while identifying himself as a member of the association.

Odedina charged ASUP to focus on giving out their best to the students.

The chapter’s chairman of the association, Comrade Kola Abiola lauded the members of the association for concentrating on the teaching profession despite salaries being owed by the Ogun State Government.
