You’re great assets to development, Sanwo-Olu tells women group  

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has described women as great assets to development while urging them to be more active in politics and policy issues.

Sanwo-Olu made the statement while addressing APC supporters at a rally held at Campos Square on the Lagos Island.

He said that he had benefitted from the amazing capacity, good sense of judgement and commitment of women in the course of his career.

He therefore added that the society had so much to gain by considering women in decision making and in the business of government.

“Your roles can never be overemphasized in the development process and in building a better society. As we are presently on the journey of building a greater Lagos, I want to humbly call on you to join us and be part of this historic movement to greater heights.

“We will address all the challenges confronting your determination to reach your potential and give your best to the betterment of this great state and wonderful country. We are very serious about our inclusive government mantra. So you will certainly have outstanding roles to play in moving Lagos forward”, he said.

The rally, organised by the APC women wing, had dignitaries in attendance. These include the lawmaker representing the Lagos Central in the Senate, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu’s running mate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, former Lagos Deputy Governors, Mrs Sarah Sosan and Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, APC Southwest Women Leader, Mrs Kemi Nelson, and women leader in the state, Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, among others.
