We need religious harmony to progress as a nation, Cleric tells Nigerians

Mr Asuquo Udobong, a Stake President, Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, has urged Nigerians to promote the culture of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence in the country.

Udobong, Agege Stake President, said this at the 4th Annual Conference of the mormon church in Lagos on Sunday.

He urged Nigerians, irrespective of religions, to come together in love and harmony to bring peace and development to our nation.

According to him, Nigerians should be obedience to God’s commandments and pray for the nation at all times to enable them enjoys His abundance.

“For the country to attain peace we must love one another, if we accept our different identity and live as one in the country, then we would find peace,’’ he said.

He also urged the electorates to exercise their civic responsibility and vote in credible leaders and not to be enticed by politicians so as not to mortgage their future.

“We should go all out and exercise our civic responsibility, and vote our conscience and allow the lord to choose who will lead us.

“Because we believe that leaders come from God, whoever emerges means that God has chosen him.

“We should all accept the outcome without any bloodletting or blood shedding,’’ he said. (NAN)
