The Majority Leader of the legislative arm of the Ikoyi-Obalende Local Government Development Area, (L.C.D.A), Lagos, Sulaiman Keana has donated cash and wrappers to about 100 residents of ward ‘A’ in Obalende as part of fulfillment of his campaign promises.

Ward ‘A’ in Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA comprises Obalende Road, Ajeniya, Odo, Moshlashi, Toyan and Ojo Street.

Keana dole out N5,000 each to the 100 residents at the occasion which took place at Suya Junction, Obalende, Lagos.

Dignitaries in attendance included APC Chieftain, Mr. Kola Peregrino; Chairman, Ikoyi-Obalende LC.D.A, Mr Fuad Atanda Lawal; Mrs. Iyabo Oshofisan; Mr. Abayomi Popoola; Mr. Nurudeen Amao and host of others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Keana said “I must first of all thank our irrepressible and indefatigable National Leader of the All Progressives congress, APC Senator Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and other party leaders in Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA for supporting Arewa son to represent them at the Ikoyi Council.

“I am now appealing to Nigerian leaders to emulate the detribalised leadership quality of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu in carrying all tribes along in the governance of Lagos State.

“I was born and raised in Obalende by my parents who hail from Alago tribe in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

“I decided to give N5,000 each to my people no matter how small to show appreciation to them for voting me to represent them at the Ikoyi-Council and I will continue to provide for my people to enable them feed well and improve on their businesses,” he said.

Some of the beneficiaries of the cash donation praised Keana for doing what others had not been able to do in Ikoyi-Obalende since 1999 when democracy came in to being.

According to Alhaja Monsurat Ayinla, a resident, “people have been representing us in ward ‘A’ in Obalende at the council since 1999, but none has ever remembered us like Keana and if Keana could remember his people as a councilor, then it means that if given higher opportunity, he would do more for his people. I promise to use the N5,000 judiciously to improve on my business.”
