Gunmen kill three in Rivers electoral violence

Unidentified gunmen have killed an APC chieftain Chief Mowan Etete in Asarama, Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Etete, a former Andoni local government council chairman was shot dead along with his elder brother and another victim, believed to be his cousin.

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus is from Andoni LGA in Rivers State.

Ignatius, an ex-official member of APC Rivers State Executive committee was also shot to death in Ajakaja, in Andoni LGA.

Shortly after the Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Transportation Minister and his wife voted, gunmen started chasing away voters in units 3, 11, 6, & 7 in Ubima, Ikwerre LGA.

Nnamdi Omoni, spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the killing of the APC chieftain.

In a related development, there were sporadic shootings in Abonnema, Akuku-Toro local government areas that made it almost impossible for election to take place.
