Former Cross River Assembly Minority Leader congratulates Buhari

Mr Alex Irek, former Minority Leader of the Cross River Assembly and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his re-election.

Irek said that President Buhari’s victory did not come to him as a surprise, adding, ‘‘I congratulate Mr President for his re-election even-though I knew he was going to win.

‘‘To me, I believe the president has done well to deserve a second term and that is exactly what has happened.’’

He further commended the president for the ongoing rehabilitation of Ikom-Calabar road, noting that the work had brought succour to the people, especially the people of the central and northern senatorial districts of the state.

‘‘Now that he has been re-elected most of these projects he started will be completed and at the end of his second tenure; we will see a new Nigeria,’’ he said.

Irek said Nigerians should expect many good things to happen in the years ahead following the re-election of Mr President.

He advised the South East and South-South geo-political zones to accept the outcome of the election and support the president in the task of building a new Nigeria.
