The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, said no fewer than 334 candidates would participate in the Governorship and State house of Assembly elections in Katsina state on Saturday.
INEC Residential Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr Ibrahim Zarewa, disclosed this to newsmen in Katsina.
Zarewa, said 18 candidates are contesting for governorship election in the state.
He said 316 candidates are also contesting for the 34 state House of Assembly seats in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), however, observed that out of the 316 candidates, only 15 of them are females.
