Prof. Soni Tyoden, Plateau Deputy Governor, has said that the APC was sure of retaining the governorship seat being contested by 30 others in the Saturday elections.
“I don’t see us losing the seat to anyone; not even the PDP,” Tyoden told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Pushit, his village in Mangu Local Government.
“We are not afraid of losing this election because we know that the people are with us. We don’t even see any possibility of losing this election to PDP.
“We have done our homework; we have served the people and we cannot be rejected by the same people.
“But, if by any strange coincidence, something happens and we lose, of course we will subject ourselves to the will of the people.
“This is the only government that has no salary arrears and has maintained continuity in terms of projects execution. We have also opened doors for a lot of people to be employed into government service,” he said.
On the large security presence during the Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state, Tyoden said that it was all for the safety of everyone in the state.
According to him, “it was meant to help checkmate any eventuality or any threat to our peaceful conduct of the election and nothing else. Nobody should give it any other colouration’’.
