A woman, Elizabeth Olateju has dragged her former boyfriend, Wende Felix before a Lagos Magistrates’ Court for allegedly posting her nude pictures on Facebook despite collecting the sum of N350,000 from her not to download  the pictures.

The accused was arrested by the police at the Maroko Division, Lekki, Lagos and charged before the Igbosere Chief Magistrate Court on a three-count charge of posting woman’s nude pictures on the Facebook and conducts likely to cause breach of peace.

Police Counsel, Inspector Rosemary Ehimegbe told the court in charge No./03/2020 that the accused committed the offence between 2018 and 2019 at Durosimi-Etti Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Ehimehbe informed the court that the complainant reported to the police that she had a brief relationship with the accused and stop and later went to marry.

According to her, the complainant stated that she was shocked after she delivered a baby boy for her husband, the accused sent her nude pictures to her phone demanding the sum of N350,000 from her or else he would post them on Facebook for her husband to see.

She said the complainant further stated that to avoid scandal and to secure her marriage, she paid the accused the N350,000 on three installments of N100,000, N100,000 and N150,000, adding that despite paying the accused the money, he still went ahead to post the pictures

Ehimegbe said the offences, the accused committed were punishable under sections 314, 57 (a) and 168 (d) of the criminal laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused from Benue State, North Central Nigeria, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and Magistrate Mr.O Osinbajo granted him N50,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

Osinbajo adjourned the case till 5 February, 2020 for mention and ordered that the defendant be kept at the ikoyi Correctional Facility till he perfected the bail conditions.
