Manager arraigned over theft of employer’s N59.9m Property

A senior manager with Danel Nigeria Limited, Located at 232, Ago palace way, Okota, Lagos, Peter owojuyigbe, 44, has been arranged before a Lagos magistrate court for allegedly stealing his employer’s properties valued at N59,995,000.

A police source alleged that the accused was ordered arrested by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Ahmed Illiasu in charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos following a petition by the management of Danel Nigeria Limited.

Police Councel, S. Molo told the court in charge No. A/04/2020 that the accused committed the offence on 1 and 2 November 2019 at 232 Ago palace way, Okota, Lagos.

Molo informed the court that the complainant reported that the accused betrayed the trust reposed in him as a manager and stole its properties such as 41metric tons of orqal and barmocol chemicals all valued at N59,995,000.

He said the offences, the accused committed were punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and Chief Magistrate, O. O Oshin granted him N500,000 bail with two sorties in like sum.

Oshin Adjourned the case till 9 march 2020 for mention and ordered that the defendant be kept at the ikoyi correctional facility till he perfected the bail conditions.
