Pep Guardiola: disappointed

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach was clearly disappointed after the final whistle at Old Trafford, with his wards succumbing to a 2-0 defeat to city rivals, Manchester United.

In December, United had come to Etihad Stadium to beat the defending champions 2-1. And Sunday’s derby was to be a redemption of sort for City.

It was not to be as Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay scored a goal each in the two halves for the hosts, to record United’s first derby double in 10 years.

Contrasting emotions in Manchester- Pep Guardiola and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

“We played good. We conceded a goal and should have avoided it, but in the second half we played good as well”, Guardiola said in consolation.
