Manchester United boss Ole, Gunnar Solskjaer, knows he could have pulled off the bargain of the season after Odion Ighalo’s wondergoal against LASK on Thursday night.
The on-loan striker, drafted in from China to salvage Manchester United’s season, fired home a brilliant opener to put the Red Devils ahead in their Europa League clash at LASK and the look on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said it all.
Ighalo picked up a fine pass from Bruno Fernandes, he juggled the ball three times with his feet before smashing a left-footed effort into the roof of the net in front of an empty stadium.
Solskjaer was mocked online for signing Ighalo after he was rejected by many of his targets considered to be better than the Nigerian striker.
But it was the Norwegian boss who appeared to have the last laugh when the camera panned to his reaction sitting on the bench.
Looking smug, plenty of United fans flocked to social media to praise the United gaffer.
There was no crowd to witness it as the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 first leg game was played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Odion Ighalo has scored in every game he has started for Man Utd across all competitions.
United also finished the match with a 5-0 victory, with other goals from Daniel James, Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira.
