Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, the Deputy Minister for Education, told reporters that the closures will take effect on Wednesday as Tuesday is a public holiday.
The measure will stay in force till 31 March.
Bangladesh detected its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the number has since increased to eight, according to the director of the country’s state-run Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control, and Research.
The newly infected persons are two children who are family members of a previously infected person.
