Ifeanyi George, Enugu Rangers International striker, has died in an accident on his way to Lagos from Enugu on Sunday.
P.M. News gathered was with two other teammates when their car ran under a trailer along Onitsha-Agbor-Benin road.
Reacting to the sad news, Rangers general manager, Davidson Owumi, said, “We just heard of this disturbing news, we call for prayers in this hour of pains.”
“Ifeanyi George died this morning on his way to Lagos while driving from Enugu.
“The accident occurred in Abudu just after Agbor in Delta State.
“He had been injured for the past three weeks with a severe waist pain and was told not to drive even in Enugu,” the club said in a statement.
However, Nigerian football clubs, colleagues including Asishat Osoala, have reacted to the sad news.
